Ongoing: Dear listening friend, you’re warmly invited to join us for our monthly prayer gathering at the WLUJ Studio (600 West Mason Street in Springfield), every first Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m.! It’s a special time to come together in the presence of the Lord — lifting up prayer requests from our listening family, covering our community, leaders, and the impact of the Gospel across our 21 frequencies. We’d be blessed to pray with you, encourage one another, and connect in fellowship. Feel welcome to bring your prayer requests — we’d love to see you there!

Ongoing: Washington Street Mission (408 N. 4th Street, Springfield) welcomes and encourages volunteers to join as much as you feel led – as every Saturday morning holds the opportunity to help serve breakfast and share the Good News! This is a meaningful way to shine the light of Jesus in our community – providing a warm meal, sharing the gospel, and offering fellowship and support! Your time and efforts are a beacon of hope and light to those in need. Volunteers will meet each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. to serve and uplift our community  – come and join as we come together to be a blessing! Ongoing: Find hope and healing every Thursday at Celebrate Recovery at Together Church (225 North Grand Ave E, Springfield)! Whether you're facing hurts, habits, or hang-ups, you're warmly invited to this Christ-centered recovery group! Come as you are and enjoy a meal at 5:30 p.m. for just $5 (your first visit is free!). The evening includes uplifting music, an encouraging message, and an introductory session for newcomers. Afterward, join small groups to share your journey or simply listen—whatever feels most comfortable. End the night with fellowship and a sweet treat at the Together Time Café. You’re not alone—come and be part of a caring community!

Ongoing: Refuge meets every Tuesday this summer at Chatham Baptist Church (1500 East Walnut Street, Chatham)—a ministry for college students and young adults, sponsored by the Heartland Baptist Network! The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a meal provided by an HBN church, followed by worship, preaching, and small group discussion at 7 p.m., followed by a fun hangout at 8 p.m., often featuring games or interactive activities. Designed for young adults ages 18 to 25, this is a great opportunity to grow in your faith and connect with other Christ-centered college students and peers! Ongoing: The Oaks Academy is a new Classical Christian school opening this fall at Burnside Christian Church (3121 E Elm, Burnside) in Hancock County, Illinois, serving Kindergarten through 12th grade. Monday-Friday, July 7-11: Get ready for a wild adventure at Wild Life Vacation Bible School at Calvary Church (1730 West Jefferson Street, Springfield) happening July 7–11 from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day! This wildly fun, free week-long adventure is open to kids ages 3 through 6th grade. Each day, kids will explore how uniquely and wonderfully God made them—and just how wild it is that they can share their story, use their gifts, spend time with God and others, and discover the new life Jesus offers! Thursday, July 10: Ministry leaders are invited to a powerful evening of encouragement, fellowship, and revival on Thursday, July 10, from 6–8 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Center (1600 E Clear Lake Ave, Springfield)! Hosted by WLUJ & Great News Media, this special dinner features Colby Wiltse, National Faith Leader for Citizens Defending Freedom, sharing a bold and Spirit-led message, Faith Under Fire: Awakening the Church to Lead in a Time of Crisis! This is a free event with dinner provided, designed to equip and uplift pastors and ministry leaders across Illinois during this deeply critical hour in our culture and nation. RSVP is required, and you’re encouraged to bring another leader — or even a group of fellow leaders — with you! Saturday, July 12: Fresh Visions Community Church invites you to a free Financial Planning Workshop on Saturday, July 12. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be held at the church, located at 1551 J. David Jones Parkway in Springfield, IL. Hosted by the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Trust Department, this workshop will cover the basics of estate planning, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney! Sunday-Friday, July 13-19: Join New Life Christian Camp (11257 Old Macomb Road) in Rushville, IL for a special kickoff event to Camp Fusion with The Lesters in Concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 13—followed by free BBQ for all concert attendees! Friday, August 22: An Evening with Danny Funderburk and Anticipation will take place at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd of August. This special event, hosted by Ashland First Baptist Church (221 West Washington Street, Ashland), features Gospel Music Hall of Fame member Danny Funderburk, known for his time with The Cathedrals and the Gaither Homecoming series, along with the family Gospel group Anticipation from Hannibal, Missouri! Saturday, August 23: The Sisters in Christ Ladies Event, "Still We Rise," is happening Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Salem Grace Nazarene, 1900 N. Broadway, Salem IL. Sisters in Christ is a faith-based women’s ministry that brings women together for encouragement, connection, and growing deeper in their walk with God—and this year marks a joyful 10-year celebration! Guest speaker Abigail Schnautz will share a powerful message during a day filled with worship, fellowship, and inspiration. Doors open at 8:00 am, with the event running from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include a light breakfast, lunch, and childcare! The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
