October 8, Tuesday: The beloved Southern Gospel group: The Lesters, out of Saint Louis, MO, will be live at Grace Southern Baptist Church (302 Wright Street, Virden, IL), following opening music from Big Mo! Admission is FREE with the show starting at 6:30 p.m., we encourage you to come out and be blessed!

October 11-13, Friday-Sunday: Faith Bible Church (4850 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield) will host their 31st annual Springfield Bible Conference October 11th-13th! Tom Ascol and Virgil Walker will speak on the theme, “Here We Stand” as they address certain controversies challenging evangelical churches today. The Conference is free – there will be special music, free handouts, and nursery availability for small children. October 12, Saturday: Beerlahai Roi Women’s Ministries provides shelter, food, clothing, and mentoring to homeless, pregnant women! Join us as we walk a One Mile Hike for Babies to support the incredible work Beerlahai Roi is doing in our community, at 10a.m. at Lincoln Park (2500 South 11th Street, Springfield) on October the 12th! October 12, Saturday: Southern Gospel Lovers! Come out and be blessed by the wonderful Gospel melodies of singer/songwriter, Joe Arview! October 13, Sunday: You are invited to Third Presbyterian Church’s (1030 North 7th Street, Springfield) Fall Festival, presented by New Life Committee and Deacons! This great opportunity for fall-themed fun for all ages will include: FREE pumpkins, pumpkin painting contest (with prizes), food, games, face painting, and touch the truck! In support of Grace Lutheran Church’s food pantry, there will also be collections of non-perishable food items! TPC is excited to offer this opportunity of bringing families together and providing a fall festival experience for their children without the burden of a cost - come out and join 11:00a.m.-2:00p.m. on October 13th!

October 19, Saturday: The Lakeside Church of Christ (65 Rita Road, Springfield) presents their 23rd Annual GREAT GIVEAWAY from 8a.m.-11a.m. on Saturday, the 19th of October! Clothing, home goods, and other goodies will be FREE! The church asks only that you take only what you need and to not re-sell what you take, as their aim is to serve those in need as much as possible!

October 19 & 20, Saturday & Sunday: Jensen Woods Christian Camp (1498 275 E Street, Timewell, Illinois) is hosting SOUP IN THE WOODS on Saturday the 19th from 3-6p.m. and Sunday the 20th from 11a.m.-2p.m.! There will be a variety of delicious soups, sandwiches, desserts, etc. alongside with great family fun, including: apple chucking, archery, bounce house ($2), crafts, lawn games, pumpkin decorating, live entertainment, wagon rides, and more! There will be an opportunity for a freewill offering to this wonderful foundation as they work to rebuild their site. October 25, Friday: Fall Night Out hosted by Lake Springfield Christian Assembly (1674 Lick Creek Lane, Chatham) is sure to be a wonderful time of FREE fall-themed fun for the entire community! There will be camp fire, hot dogs, hay rides, caramel apples, and LSCA camp friends, intending to bring together like-minded Christians and build community! Come out with your friends, neighbors, and family at 6:30p.m.

October 27, Sunday: Reverend Bruce Goesttsche, of Union Church (La Harpe, IL) and God’s Truth for Daily Living radio program (Monday-Friday at 3:30p.m on 89.7FM), will be retiring this year after forty-three years of ministry at Union Church! There will be a time of celebration in his honor Sunday the 27th at 2p.m. in the La Harpe School Gymnasium (404 West Main Street, La Harpe, Illinois)! All are invited and encouraged to come out for this time of great fun, especially Bruce's radio listening friends and family!

October 31, Thursday: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church & School (2645 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield) will be hosting Trunk or Treat in their parking lot, Thursday the 31st from 5-7p.m.! Our Savior’s is providing a FREE, safe, and friendly opportunity for your young ones to dress up, have fun, and hear the Good News about Jesus! Trunk or Treat will take place rain or shine, if there is rain the time of fun will be held in the Parish Hall (please enter from south entrance). For any inquires feel free to phone (217) 546-4531!

November 1-3, Friday-Sunday: Calling all junior detectives! Lake Springfield’s Christian Assembly (LSCA – 1674 Lick Creek Lane, Chatham) is thrilled to invite 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to this year’s Pre-Teen Retreat with a most exciting mystery theme! Campers will be stepping into the shoes of spiritual sleuths as they explore the deeper mysteries of love, faith, forgiveness, and discovering their God-given purpose! Upon arrival campers will immediately be immersed in a weekend packed with engaging activities and interactive Bible lessons, as we together investigate what God’s word says about the most important questions in life, all while having a blast! LSCA is dedicated to fostering an environment where biblical truths come alive in the hearts of campers, reflecting the values of scripture! The WLUJ Family of Stations and Great News Radio can air your Public Service Announcement -PSA- for your church or other non-profit organization at no charge. This includes special events and activities such as programs, seminars, banquets, concerts, revivals, etc.

We will list and broadcast announcements as time, space, and resources permit. PSAs are included on our website under Community Calendar and broadcast during our PSA on-air rotation as space and time permit. Ideally, information about your activity should reach our office at least two weeks prior to the event.

If your function, meeting, or activity includes ticket purchase for admission and may be perceived as a profit-making enterprise, determinations will need be made on how best to handle your submission.

We want to serve and assist you in promoting your God-honoring activities.
